We’re looking for somebody who’s excited about finding innovative new ways to celebrate the success of our learners and promote The Sheffield College and its values.
You’ll lead on a huge number of events throughout the year, from open days and award celebrations to employer events and staff conferences, as well as a jam-packed EDI calendar of inclusive events to bring our community together.
As Events Officer, you’ll be responsible for everything from designing and setting up events to organising guest speakers and working with external partners.
Day-to-day you will be responsible for:
Managing and coordinating core college events
Working closely with senior staff to ensure events requirements are met
Collaborating with external partners for on and off-campus events
Organising and promoting events to celebrate religious festivals, awareness days, and other key dates in the college EDI calendar
Writing, editing, and proofing marketing and event materials
Managing college social media accounts & driving forward digital strategy
After your first year in-post, success would mean you have:
Conducted a full review of college events and implemented improvements based on findings/feedback
Delivered high-quality events for core college functions (e.g. open days) that see an increase in attendee satisfaction levels
Provided support to an increasing number of events in line with college priorities and values, for curriculum areas, senior managers and our EDI calendar
We're open-minded & welcome all applicants who believe they can succeed. Though ideally, you will:
Have experience working in a fast-paced events role or a marketing role with experience in hosting and planning events
Understand a range of Content Management Systems (CMS)
Have experience planning and executing advertising campaigns
Be extremely creative and excited to bring fresh ideas to the team
Hold strong written English, proof-reading & copywriting skills
We appreciate your interest and look forward to hearing from you!
