We’re looking to recruit a talented brickwork professional to ensure the next generation of construction professionals are ready for the real world of site work!

Whether you’ve taught before, trained up apprentices on-site, or simply enjoy passing on your knowledge and skills, we’ll fully support you every step of the way as you start an exciting new career at The Sheffield College.

You’ll be joining one of the most dynamic & forward-thinking construction departments in Further Education. With amazing workshops, a brand-new innovation centre in the works, and manageable learner numbers to ensure a quality experience.

You’ll have the chance to gain formal teaching qualifications (fully funded by us!) while also working sociable hours and enjoying fantastic benefits like teachers’ pension and 42 days annual leave allowance (+Bank holidays!)

Day-to-day, you will be:

  • Teaching bricklaying & brickwork at a range of different levels

  • Helping develop our provision to ensure relevancy to the real world of site work

  • Engaging in an industry-leading CPD programme to expand your skills

  • Undertaking in-house teacher training with the aim of gaining formal teaching qualifications if not already held

After your first year with us, success in this role would look like:

  • Built student skills to a high level in preparation for industry

  • Helped forge relationships with employers and other external organisations

  • Enthusiastically engaged with CPD to develop your skills and grow your career

We welcome all applicants who believe they would be a good fit. Though ideally, you will:

  • Be time-served with strong hands-on experience in brickwork

  • Hold a relevant qualification, preferably at level 3

  • Have or be willing to work towards a formal teaching qualification within 12 months of starting
