Senior Learning Facilitator – Learning Hubs

Salary Range £22,802 - £26,182

37 hours per week X 52 weeks per year

 

Here at the Sheffield College our students are at the heart of everything we do and this role is pivotal to this. In your role as Senior Learning Facilitator, you will be instrumental in supporting and developing our students’ skills within our Learning Hubs on a 1-2-1 or group basis. Our Learning Hubs provide students with a safe, inclusive study environment, where they are supported with their educational, personal and social development.

 

As a Senior Learning Facilitator, you’ll focus on providing extended one-to-one and small group learning support for English, Math’s and study skills.

 

Day-to-day, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting learners with English and Math’s up to and including level 2
  • Supporting learners to develop independent study skills
  • Developing strategies and resources to deliver inclusive tailored one-to-one support to meet the diverse needs of learners
  • Delivering excellent service to students and staff
  • Having a thorough knowledge of all college learning resources
  • Champion our commitment to putting students first
  • Exemplify our values of fairness, respect and equality

 

Success in this role would look like:

  • Developed positive engagement with our users which has a positive impact on their college journey and enables positive progression.
  • Built strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Engaged with the college’s CPD opportunities
  • Successfully promoted the Learning Resources services

 

We’re open-minded and welcome all applicants who believe they would be a good fit. Though ideally, you will:

  • Hold a Level 3 qualification, including Maths and English at level 2, or equivalent
  • Possess a friendly and personable manner with excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal
  • Understand the aims of a college library and learning hub service
  • Has a proven customer focused approach
  • Demonstrate ability to use an innovative and enthusiastic approach to work
