Position: Lecturer - Catering

Salary: £13.04 - £21.65 per hour

Contract: Sparks Teaching Services – Zero hours

Location: City Campus

Hours: 12.5 per week

About the Role

Become a part of The Sheffield College team as a Lecturer in Catering and inspire and support our students in their educational journey to gaining their qualifications.

You will help to develop the curriculum and preparation of learning materials, along with developing seasonal menus and assessing the work of our students.

The role will be based at City campus and will be 9am-12pm, Tuesday - Friday.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Formal teaching in a workshop kitchen environment
  • Assessment and feedback of learner work
  • Menu and Curriculum development
  • Preparation of learning materials
  • Ensuring food orders are completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure an inclusive learning environment

Skills & Knowledge

  • Qualified to at least level 3 in Food preparation
  • Excellent culinary skills based upon classical cookery techniques                  
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance Standards in the food industry
  • Ability to use current IT applications effectively, including Microsoft Office and Web based systems, including e-mail.
  • Up to date CPD or have left an industry role within the last 2 years
  • Knowledge of food costings
