About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lecturer of Games Design and Development to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will teach a range of skills related to 3D, animation, game engines, and programming, helping to shape the future of our students.

Working closely with the National Games Museum in Sheffield City Centre to enhance the educational experience and leverage industry connections to keep the curriculum relevant and engaging.

Our college offers regular CPD sessions throughout the year to help you in all aspects of delivery, planning and assessment. Our Lecturers’ may also request specialist training opportunities to be considered to enhance the learner experience.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Deliver engaging and industry-relevant lessons in 3D, animation, game engines, and programming.
  • Foster students' technical and creative abilities, preparing them for successful careers in the games industry.
  • Continuously assess learners' project work throughout the academic year, providing constructive and critical feedback to support students' growth and improvement.
  • Plan and develop projects that align with current industry standards and skills.
  • Support students in progressing into the games industry or higher education.
  • Work alongside colleagues to provide holistic support to students, addressing both academic and personal needs.

 

Skills & Knowledge

  • Industry experience and awareness of current developments within Games Development.
  • Skills in the generation/use of computer-based design: Proficient in the use of industry software and practices.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards. Relevant academic or professional qualification at degree level (or equivalent).
  • Maths and English to level 2 Excellent oral and written communication skills
