Position: Careers IAG Adviser

Salary: £31,098 - £34,968 per annum (pro-rated for part time)

Contract: Fixed-Term until Friday the 29th of August 2025

Location: Sheffield

Hours: Term-Time only, 40 weeks per year X 22.2 hours (3 days per week, we can be flexible with the 3 days)

About the Role

If you’ve worked in careers, you understand the challenges of providing a properly impartial CEIAG service free from bureaucracy.

As a Careers IAG Advisor with The Sheffield College, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on students' lives by helping them navigate their educational and career paths. The focus on high-quality and impartial advice ensures that you can provide the best possible support for our students.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Managing and supporting with multiple projects and events
  • Providing personalised career advice to students
  • Developing and maintain strong relationships with students, understanding their individual needs, aspirations, and challenges.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, parents and external partners to create a supportive network for students.
  • Supporting our students to progress, whether that is in college, University or employment
  • Organising career fairs, employer visits, and networking events to expose students to various industries and professionals.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Careers qualification or experience in providing careers IAG OR Experience in running/managing events
  • Experience working with students or young people
