Position: Training and Assessment Facilitator – Pharmacy Apprenticeships 

Salary: £31,098 - £34,968 per annum (pro-rated for part time)

Contract: Permanent

Location: Sheffield

Hours: 15 hours per week X 52 weeks per year

About the Role

Pharmacy staff play a key role in healthcare provision both within NHS settings and in community pharmacies providing front line advice and guidance to patients. In partnership with the NHS and local pharmacies the Sheffield College continues to expand our pharmacy provision and an exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the apprenticeship team at the College.

You will play a crucial role in advancing the quality and effectiveness of apprenticeship programs in the Health and Science sector, particularly focusing on the level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant and level 3 Pharmacy Technician standards.

Working with apprentices in early years can be immensely rewarding.  By supporting candidates' career progression, you play a crucial role in shaping the future workforce of this vital industry.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Work with a caseload of apprentices, helping them progress and achieve their qualifications.
  • Conduct regular assessments and progress reviews within employer settings to monitor and enhance apprentice performance
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of apprenticeship standards
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies to meet the demands of employers and ensure a high-quality teaching and learning experience.
  • Maintain strong relationships with employers to ensure the apprenticeship programs meet their needs
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to incorporate into the apprenticeship programs.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong background in Pharmacy
  • A relevant occupational qualification at level 3 or above
  • Hold a TAQA qualification, or equivalent, or be willing to work towards this as part of your role.
