Position: Employment Service Officer

Salary: £31,719 - £35,667 per annum (pro-rated for part time & term time)

Contract: 2 x Fixed Term Positions until 31st July 2025  

Location: Sheffield

Hours: 37 hours per week x 52 weeks per year & 22.2 hours per week x 40 weeks per year

About the Role

We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Employment Services Officer to join our team at The Sheffield College. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in driving the strategic direction of the college, ensuring compliance, and managing day-to-day operations. This rewarding position allows you to support young people from underrepresented groups, helping them make informed choices about their higher education options. You'll play a key role in minimizing barriers and unlocking their potential!

This role is perfect for someone who is experienced working in data, writing and advertising employment opportunities and delivering employability workshops. If you are passionate about raising awareness and the benefits to progress into higher education then this could be a great opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with Curriculum Employer Partnership team to quality check and ensure all opportunities and comply with the college policy and funding rules for audit prior to start date.
  • Check compliance and quality of student and employer agreements and associated documents prior to the placement start date.
  • Ensure all students who have commenced a job appear on college systems and are matched to an official employer record and can commence.
  • Contribute to reducing the gap in higher education participation between the most and least represented groups.
  • Support a strategic local infrastructure of universities, college, and other partners that can cut through competitive barriers, offer an efficient and low-burden route for schools and colleges to engage with higher education outreach, enable schools to engage with attainment-raising activity, and address outreach ‘cold spots’ for underrepresented groups.
