Salary: £31,719 – £35,667 per annum

Contract: Permanent

Location: Sheffield

Hours: 37 hours per week x 52 weeks per year

About the Role

Are you passionate about making a difference in people's lives? If so, we want you to join our dynamic team as an Assistive Technology Support Specialist. To meet the emerging needs of our students with SEND and High Needs, this role requires an experienced professional to lead the development of assistive technology and work with the teams to embed this technology across the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting students and staff, digital literacy, researching and trailing the latest innovations in assistive technology and supporting IT technology.

The Sheffield College is a thriving community of staff, students, governors, parents, and stakeholders who use our IT and digital resources. We now need someone to join Bloom, our curriculum for students who require a higher level of support and play their part in supporting students with assistive technologies.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide technical support and assistance to enhance the lives of our students with learning disabilities.
  • Customer-facing role providing second-line technical support.
  • You will work closely with our staff and students, helping resolve or advise on IT-related matters.
  • Work closely with the IT Service Desk, from which you will take requests for IT support.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Experience in both a Microsoft Office 365 and Google Classroom environment is essential
  • Knowledge of Windows 10, Active Directory, and video conferencing platforms would be advantageous
  • Experience in software and hardware installations, including supporting a range of IT and AV equipment.
