Hours: 37 Hours X 52 Weeks

About the Role

As a Health and Safety Advisor at The Sheffield College, you will join a progressive team dedicated to fostering a safe, healthy, and supportive environment within a dynamic and varied educational setting.

You would provide advice and support on all aspects of health and safety legislation and good practice in order to create a safe working environment for staff, students, visitors and contractors. This role is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels across a variety of vocational areas, across 6 sites.

Working closely with a diverse group of professionals in a vibrant educational setting, this role is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the health and safety standards at The Sheffield College.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Ensuring visibility across all sites and fostering strong collaborative relationships with all departments.
  • Promoting safety culture and supporting safe working practices
  • Health and Safety Monitoring
  • Accident and Incident Management

Skills & Knowledge

  • National General Certificate (NEBOSH) in Occupational Safety and Health/or equivalent
  • Understanding of relevant health and safety regulations and guidelines applicable to educational settings
  • An ability to convey complex information clearly and sensitively
  • Be able to adapt to changing circumstances and requirements in a dynamic educational environment
  • Working with a high degree of autonomy and initiative and passionate about achieving positive outcomes.
