Position: Technician (Pre-Technical & Preparation for Adulthood)              

Salary: Salary: £24,374 per annum (pro rated for part time & term time)

Location: Sheffield

Post 1 – 18.5 hours per week x 52 weeks per year

Post 2 – 15 hours per week x 38 weeks per year

Working pattern to be negotiated. (Consideration will be given to combining the two roles, please stipulate on the application)

About the Role

As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the educational experience, we are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Technician to support our curriculum delivery.

The Technician will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of the Pre-Technical and Preparation for Adulthood department. This position involves working closely with academic staff to ensure that all technical aspects of curriculum delivery are effectively managed. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and preparing equipment, assisting in practical sessions, and providing technical support to both staff and students.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical food sessions as per the curriculum requirements
  • Assist academic staff during practical sessions, ensuring all technical needs are met
  • Maintain and organize technical resources, including routine checks and repairs
  • Contribute to the maintenance of an organized and efficient learning environment, including stationery and food supplies
